"Really delicious and authentic food and the portion size is extremely generous! We ordered lamb shank briyani in banana where the spice flavour is just nice; the honey lamb curry goes perfectly with the plain naan, simply mouth-watering. The ice lemon tea here is also freshly brewed! The waiters here speak Malay, English and Chinese, all of them are super pleasant! We asked to be transferred inside due to heavy rain while waiting for the food and the request was immediately met!"

"One of the best food experiences. The naan cheese was phenomenal and was oozing with cheddar. The manager was very kind and gave us a very delicious sambal dip to try with our apam, should be apart of the dish."

"Must must must must come. Amazing. You will be amazed. No wonder so viral. Well done to the boss, he leads the employees to be so efficient, so friendly even they're so busy. Price is so reasonable. Too amazed. Will come back again. From Sibu. The best restaurant I ever experienced."

"The cheese naan was super delicious, generously filled with cheese and made with quality ingredients. The curry (kuah) that came with it is something you can’t usually find in West Malaysia — surprisingly, it paired really well. The nasi briyani was decent, nothing particularly special. The owner also went around to each table to ask for feedback and see if there was anything to improve, which was a nice touch."

"If you’re in Kuching and your stomach is screaming for a "proper" Indian feast, Ceylonese Restaurant at Jalan Green Hill is bapak steady, man. This place is a total legend—it’s been around for ages and still keeps that old-school, no-nonsense vibe that we all love. It’s not fancy-fancy, but the food? Walao, it’s 5-star taste for sure! The star of the show is definitely their Banana Leaf Rice. The moment they lay that leaf down and start "flooding" your rice with three types of curry (Dhal, Fish, and Chicken), you know it’s game over. You must order their Mutton Varuval—the meat is super tender and the spices are so padu (intense), it hits all the right spots. If you like something crispy, their Fried Bitter Gourd and Fried Fish are total MVPs. The vibe here is very chill and humble. It’s the kind of place where you see office workers, families, and tourists all sitting together, sweating over spicy curries under the ceiling fans. It’s "healing" food at its best! Pro tip: wash everything down with a cold Mango Lassi or a hot Masala Tea to neutralize the spice. Service-wise, the uncles there are super laju (fast). They’ll top up your veggies before you even ask. Price-wise, it’s very "rakyat" friendly; you get a massive, soul-satisfying meal that won't make your wallet cry. Overall, a solid 9/10. It’s messy, it’s spicy, and it’s arguably the best banana leaf spot in Kuching!"

"Had a really satisfying dinner here. The cheese naan was absolutely amazing – soft, crispy on the outside and packed with melted cheese inside. Every bite was cheesy goodness! The cauliflower dish was a pleasant surprise. It was flavourful with rich spices and tasted very fresh. Definitely a must-try. The chicken tandoori was grilled to perfection – juicy, tender and not dry at all. When dipped into the mint and tomato sauces, the flavours became even better. Personally I would prefer a slightly less red colour, but the taste was still excellent. Service was also top notch. Even with the busy buka puasa crowd, Cindy and the staff were very friendly and attentive. It was also nice to see the owner personally checking that everyone was enjoying their meals. Great food, great service and a welcoming atmosphere Definitely coming back again for more yummy food"

"I visited Ceylonese Restaurant, the one at Jalan Green Hill. I was told there is another outlet in Matang. The place may be a little hidden, but thanks to word of mouth and its strong reputation, it has become a favourite among Kuching folks. This was my first visit, and I was genuinely impressed. The food is delicious-delicious. The kind that stays on your mind. The double cheese naan is unbeatable, the banana leaf–wrapped briyani is wonderfully fragrant, and the dosai is excellent. The service is equally commendable. The staff are friendly, polite, and very accommodating. The owner himself is exceptionally courteous and goes from table to table to ensure diners are comfortable. Something you do not often see..... Prices and portions are commendable. I will definitely be visiting again..... Bon Appetit!"

"We ordered 1 Banana Leaf Briyani Lamb Shank and 1 Triple Extra Extra Tarik Naan. The briyani lamb shank is a must-try! The lamb was incredibly tender, juicy, and full of flavour. It paired perfectly with the fragrant briyani rice — definitely the highlight of the meal. As for the naan, we were honestly shocked by the portion size. The Triple Extra Extra Tarik Naan is HUGE — I think it can easily serve 5 to 6 people or even more. The taste was good and very rich, but because of the extra extra cheese, it can get a bit overwhelming and you may feel “jelak” (too heavy) after a while, especially for just two people. The only suggestion for improvement: it would be great if the waiter could advise customers about the portion size. If we had known it was that big, we would have ordered a normal cheese naan first and added more if needed. Overall, great food, generous portions, and worth the visit. Definitely coming back again — just ordering smarter next time!"
